Honest advice

What to do before I get there.

Keep well clear of the tree, and keep children and pets away from it. A partly fallen tree or a limb hung up in the canopy can move without warning, and a stem under tension will move fast when it releases. Don't try to cut anything free yourself.

If a tree is down on a power line, or blocking a public road, call the electricity network operator or the council first — that has to be dealt with before anyone can work on the tree. If it's on a building, take photographs from a safe distance for your insurer.

Then give me a ring. Because I'm based between Hook Norton and Chipping Norton I can usually get to jobs in this area quickly, make the immediate hazard safe, and come back to finish the tidy-up once the pressure is off.
